|The South of England Agricultural Society is delighted to announce that its Winter Fair weekend will return to the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, this November.
Running from 9am – 5pm on Saturday 23rd and 9am – 4pm on Sunday 24th November, the Winter Fair will be a shoppers’ paradise providing the perfect opportunity to get the Christmas preparations sorted whilst enjoying a festive family day out.
Visitors can shop till they drop with a plethora of artisan goodies all from local, independent traders across the south of England. For food and drink lovers there’s mouth-watering gin liqueurs, homemade chilli jams, gourmet pork pies, truckle cheeses, handcrafted macarons and chocolate wine. For those looking for unique gifts and stocking fillers there’s everything from wooden toys, artwork, jewellery, lovingly produced leather and cashmere fashion, natural soap and grooming gift sets, stunning home accessories, Christmas decorations and more.
It’s not just about the shopping though. The Winter Fair provides the perfect day out to keep the whole family entertained. Featuring a variety of feel-good Christmassy entertainment and activities, families are sure to enjoy the giant snow globe that they can step inside to capture the perfect Christmas-card-worthy family picture. There are also the thrilling delights of the traditional carousel, meet and greets with the Ice Queen and her elf, and of course the opportunity to meet the big man himself inside Santa’s grotto.
If that weren’t enough, there’s even the chance for both adult and child visitors to take part in chocolate-making workshops so they can wow their friends and family over the festive period with their very own handmade truffles or chocolate decorations.
With the Winter Fair taking place inside and undercover or in heated marquees, there’s no need to be worried about the unpredictable British weather.
Iain Nicol, CEO of the South of England Agricultural Society, said:
“We’re very excited to see our Winter Fair go from strength to strength, with hundreds of regional artisan producers getting the chance to showcase their wonderful creations. Celebrating and supporting these local businesses in the south of England is very important to us and it provides the perfect opportunity for our visitors to purchase some truly unique gifts, or of course treats for themselves.
“With the added addition of our Christmas entertainment and activities running throughout the weekend, we hope that families come along and enjoy a wonderful festive day out together, all in the knowledge that they are helping the Society as a charity. Without them we couldn’t offer the support we do to so many involved in agriculture and other related land-based industries. From inspiring schoolchildren to learn about the land, to offering travel bursaries for people working in the farming sector, or helping with funding towards agricultural research and projects, every ticket sold really does make a difference.”
Tickets for the Winter Fair 2019 cost £5.85 for adults and £4.95 for seniors/students (inclusive of a 10% online discount which ends midnight 22.11.19). *Under 16s go free with a paying adult. Click here for tickets.
