We are delighted to announce that a record-breaking 14,000 visitors attended the Winter Fair on 23rd & 24th November at the Showground.
The busiest Christmas event we have held to date, the Winter Fair was organised to help raise funds for the Society to fulfil its charitable remit. Any profits will be put towards helping our educational work from inspiring school children to learn about food production and appreciate the value of the countryside, to offering travel bursaries for people working in the farming sector or helping fund agricultural research, and showcasing the countryside and its industries to the public at their Shows
The fair, which ran through the weekend was a shopper’s paradise offering visitors the perfect opportunity to get their Christmas preparations sorted whilst enjoying a festive family day out.
Iain Nicol, CEO of the South of England Agricultural Society, said:
“It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying our Winter Fair at the showground and supporting our charity’s work. Without them we couldn’t offer the support we do to so many involved in agriculture and other related land-based industries. Everyone was truly getting into the festive spirit and it was a great weekend for local families to kick off the Christmas shopping period in style.”
The Society’s next event will be Spring Live! which will take place on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd May 2020. Tickets and more information will be available in the new year.
