A galloping good time had by all at the Ratcatchers Ball

1 Ratcatchers Ball 2013Tradition was restored on 22 November when the Old Surrey Burstow & West Kent Hunt returned to the South of England Showground for its annual fundraising Ratcatchers Ball.

170 people enjoyed an evening of superb dining provided by The Garden Chef and dancing to live band Bowman in the comfortable and spacious setting of the Norfolk Pavilion.

“It was a very successful evening and so nice to be back,” said Sam Fieldsend of the OSB&WKH. “We’ve been holding our annual Ball at the Showground for more than 25 years but last year we decided to try elsewhere. However, when we discovered we could use the fabulous catering services of The Garden Chef we were back like a shot. It was the best food we’ve ever had and when word gets round to all our members we’re certain that next year we’ll sell even more tickets as a result.”

On the menu was smoked salmon blinis followed by steak pie with sticky toffee pudding to finish. Chef Becky Cook of The Garden Chef showed just how much care and attention to detail she delivers by creating pastry tops for the pies in the shape of a horse’s head.
