Schools' Competition at the South of England Show
Every year, as part of the South of England Show, there is a chance for students from across the South East to showcase their creativity and presentation skills in our Schools’ Competition. The Schools’ Competition is free to enter and open to KS1, KS2, and KS3 groups.
We also hold a Bees & Honey Poster competition.
What’s involved?
The competition is based on a theme that is separated into categories. Year groups can choose to any number of categories.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, presentation and information.
A prize will be awarded to the winner of each category for KS1, KS2 and KS3 groups.
All entries into the Schools’ Competition will be displayed during the South of England Show at The Countryside Hub in the Discover the Countryside area.
The theme for 2024’s Schools’ Competition will be ‘Hedgehogs’.
The competition categories are:
1. Make a mini model of a farmer’s crop field growing either barley, wheat or oats.
2. Write a poem showing the use of
barley, wheat and oats in food and/or drink.
3. Create a picture showing the 4 stages of farmers crops (see regulations for more details).
4. Dreamcatcher showing the use of any dried or freshly grown crops of barley, wheat or oats.
Bees & Honey
Children in the South East of England are invited to create a poster of up to A4 about Bees or Beekeeping.
Posters will be displayed and judged at the South of England Show
