Grants for Land-Based Skills & Qualifications
The South of England Agricultural Society provides training grants for anyone living in the South East to undertake land-based education or training. The grants are for people of any age who are already working in land-based industries (including agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, equine, forestry, estate and land management) and require certain skills, certifications or qualifications.
The grants can be provided for a wide range of skills such as crop spraying, chainsaw use, sheep shearing or first aid. The grants can also be used by people who would like to develop their management or business skills, as long as they are already working in a land-based industry, whether as employer or employee.
The intention is that grant recipients will also engage with the South of England Agricultural Society for example by becoming a member, helping at Society shows, or providing information on their training which can be used as an example to encourage others to apply.
£10,000 has been made available to allocate across grant applications for 2021 by the Society’s Education Committee. The Education Committee will meet twice per year to consider applications. The deadlines for applications for 2021 are May 31st and October 31st.
