NEW! Meet The Gruffalo on Saturday 8th June

In the 20th anniversary year of the beloved picture book The Gruffalo, children can come and meet this fantastic character. Come to The Gruffalo Meet & Greet point in Weald Wood, on Saturday 8th June where the magical monster will be making personal appearances at 11am, 12.20am, 1.30pm, 2.40pm and 3.50pm. Plus there is a chance to take a memorable photo with our 8 foot high selfie board throughout the show.

NEW! Follow The Gruffalo Activity Trail

Children can ‘Follow The Gruffalo’ around the 2019 South of England Show and experience 24 things to see & do that are included with entry to the show. Take part in beekeeping, have a go at peg weaving, be thrilled by the Bolddog Lings FMX Motorcycle display teams and so much more, and of course come and meet The Gruffalo at intervals on Saturday 8th June. Pick up your Show programme when you arrive at the show and collect your stickers as you follow The Gruffalo’s footprints!

Face Painting

There’s nothing quite like getting into the spirit of things by having your face painted. No summertime event is complete without this wonderfully creative attraction, which is why it’s a firm family favourite. Happy Henna will be at the Show to offer a whole host of colourful and original face paint designs using henna, glitter tattoos and gems. Whatever you want, we’re confident we can create it – we can’t wait to see all your wonderfully painted faces! Price: £5 per face paint.

Fairground

A day out with the kids isn’t complete without a thrilling visit to the fairground. Why not take a turn on the gallopers, have a whizz on the whirling waltzers or have a 21st century bounce around in a zorb just for fun – whether it’s old-time fun or modern thrills you’re after, you’ll find it all here at our fairground. With this and so much more on offer to entertain families, children and friends alike, our amazing funfair is one attraction that you won’t want to miss! Charges apply.

Mini Monster Trucks

Children can enjoy a taste of what it’s like to pilot a monster truck in these pocket sized replicas around a designated course. Price £5 (£7 if accompanied by an adult)

NFU Discovery Barn

Families with younger children will love the interactive nature of the NFU’s Discovery Barn which helps youngsters understand more about their food, with a wide range of activities including quizzes, puzzles and a model dairy cow to milk and a chance to learn about tractors and new technology. This year there will also be a chance to take a selfie with a chicken!
