Gundog Scurry competition
The Gundog Scurry is fun to take part in and fun to watch! It’s open to all Gundog breeds – just come along and enter on the day. Dogs compete to retrieve a dummy in the fastest time. Simple enough for novices but tricky enough for experienced dogs, so whether you’re a newcomer to this energetic event or a champion, come along with your dog and join in the fun!
Watch Terriers live up to their name as they tear up the course in this action-packed event! There are three races on each day of the Show and they are open to all Terrier type or size dogs – just turn up and get involved.
Dog Agility competitions are fast and furious and a great favourite with competitors and spectators alike. There’s a fun agility ring where you can ‘have a go’ – all dogs can be put through their paces tackling the obstacle course for a small charge.
WhipCurl Canine Resolve Gundog Demonstration
Come and see spaniels and retrievers do what they do best as they demonstrate their talents at the highly entertaining Whipcurl Canine Resolve gundog display. Find out about the different stages of gundog training from basic puppy obedience through to advanced work. Performances are unrehearsed so anything could happen!
Rare Breed Gundogs & Terriers
In the kennel area of the showground come and see these rare breed dogs and learn about the efforts being made to preserve them for future generations.
The Sussex Longdogs Association exists to run racing for Lurchers, Whippets, Greyhounds and other sight hounds. Enjoy the display of different dogs and marvel at the races in the main ring and see them up close in the Countryside Ring.
Enjoy the display in the main ring from Kent & Surrey Bloodhounds on Saturday with commentary by Senior Master and Huntsman Bill Kear. Plus meet the bloodhounds up close in the Countryside Ring on Saturday. On Sunday in the main ring it’s the turn of the Foxhounds. This cavalcade brings together 3 local packs. Learn about the history of the packs, the areas they cover and what makes a good hound – with the chance to enter the Ardingly ring and mingle with the friendly hounds and huntsmen resplendent in their full regalia.
