Following the hugely successful Winter Fair in 2016, organisers at the South of England Centre have made plans for this year’s event to be more magical than ever. Taking place on 25 and 26 November 2017 at the South of England Showground, visitors can look forward to a fantastic festive shopping experience with more floor space and fun for all the family with a spectacular new giant winter snow globe.
Up to six people at any one time can jump into the impressive 8ft snow globe where they will be transported to a winter wonderland. You can also meet Santa in his magical grotto and take a ride on the traditional vintage carousel or try your hand at blacksmithing and breadmaking.
Christmas choirs and an enchanting Snow Queen on stilts will offer a festive welcome to visitors and mesmerising street entertainment will lead the seasonal celebrations. Over 120 stall holders will be spread across two, large, separate marquees this year, one for gifts and greetings and the other for clothing and accessories, giving shoppers every opportunity to find inspirational and original Christmas gifts.
Shoppers can take a break at any time and sit back and relax in the large undercover food court where a tantalising selection of artisan and street food will be on offer. Live music will be performed throughout the day from the fantastic Harry’s Tricks with their blend of 20’, 30’s and 40’s music followed by exciting acoustic singer/songwriter Fred Clark, who will sing some great Christmas classics alongside his own compositions. Executed with style and immaculate timing to music, artist Jon Hicks will step on stage between acts to create a unique piece of art with a surprise twist.
Catering for the most splendid of seasonal spreads, shoppers will be able to select from an abundance of preserves and patés, delicious local pies, Christmas puds, cakes and tempting chocolate. Pick up your seasonal sausages, pork and hams and choose from a range of superb cheeses to make up the perfect cheeseboard with delicious chutneys on the side, all washed down with wonderful wines, beers and spirits.
The atmosphere will be warm and welcoming for all ages and with ample free parking, visitors are not pressured to rush and instead can relax and enjoy the start of the festive season.
