Open Dog Show

More than 1000 dogs of all breeds will be taking part in the annual Open Dog Show and hundreds of proud owners gather to show off their four-legged friends in the company of top breeders from throughout the country.

The ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best Puppy in Show’ go through to Crufts and Junior Handling winners qualify to compete in the Richmond Championship Show.

Judging will take place over the two days with classes for Terriers, Working Dogs, Utility and Pastoral on Sunday, and Hounds, Gundogs and Toy Dogs on Monday.

Alpaca & Lama Competition

Alpacas and Llamas Competition

This ever popular competition is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and more than 300 animals from across the South will be taking part.

These attractive, gentle and intelligent animals – now quite common in the British countryside – are native to the Andes mountains in South America and live at altitudes of some 12,000 feet. Alpacas are kept for their fine, lustrous fleece and Llamas are kept chiefly as pack animals for trekking, as sheep guards or as field pets.
