The Society’s objectives are:

• (1) To promote industry in general and agriculture in particular.



• (2) To advance education, particularly education in agriculture and allied industries, in animal husbandry, in horticulture and forestry

In furtherance of the objectives, the Society stages Shows and competitions for the promotion of agriculture and the countryside in general.

Additional support and focus is being given to the promotion and use of local and British produce.  Future projects will include environmental and sustainable energy aspects.

The Society’s support and sponsorship of projects together with the funding of numerous awards and donations totals more than £100,000 each year.
