Sitting Pretty thanks to generous Cub Scouts... - 17/03/2010

Cub Scouts in West Sussex have rallied round and donated a wonderful teak seat to the South of England Agricultural Society.

At the handover ceremony, the South of England Agricultural Society’s chairman, Brian Williams, said: “The Showground can never have too many seats for our foot weary visitors. We are most grateful to the generosity of our young Cub Scouts for this lovely gift which will be much appreciated by those who visit the South of England Centre in Ardingly for our annual calendar of shows and events.”

This is the second seat the Society’s received from the county’s Scouts and Guides. The first came in recognition of the Society’s support for the 2008 international camp held on the Showground.

“If anyone else wishes to donate a bench, either in remembrance of a loved one, or just by way of support for all the work the Society does to support rural industries – it would be very much appreciated,” adds Mr Williams.
