Competing at the Spring Garden & Leisure Show
Following a successful first year the Floristry competition, sponsored by Plumpton College, will again be taking place at the Spring Garden & Leisure Show. Open to both Beginners and Intermediate/Advanced levels, entries will be exhibited in the Gardening Theatre and prize giving will take place on Monday 1 May at approximately 4pm. Closing dates for entry is Monday 10 April.
Crufts Qualifying Open Dog Show
The South of England Open Dog Show offers 268 unbenched classes for the region’s top breeders, with the ultimate honour of winning a place at Crufts 2018. Last year over 700 pedigree dogs and their owners took part in the show, which has received a recommendation from the Kennel Club and operates under Kennel Club Ltd rules and regulations.
Classes are as follows:
Sunday: Terrier; Working; Utility; Pastoral; Toy
Monday: Hounds; Gundog
Entries close: Thursday 30th March 2017 (Postmark)

Young Kennel Club Handling classes 3 age group, 1st placed handlers qualify for Crufts 2018(must be paid up members of YKC)
Adult Handling classes 1st – 3rd qualifies for the Coventry Ladies’ Kennel Society finals held at City of Birmingham Championship show 2017
New breeds for 2017:
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Old English Sheepdogs, Basenji, Basset Fauve do Bretagne
The Alpaca Show
Organised by the British Alpaca Society, the South of England Alpaca Competition is a firm favourite with visitors and an unmissable event for the region’s many alpaca breeders. The two-day show is run to strict BAS rules which adhere to the accepted worldwide standards for showing alpacas and fleece.
