Terms of Reference:

  1. The purpose of the grants from the South of England Agricultural Society through the International Farmlink Committee is to facilitate visits by South East farmers and those from land based industries to enterprises abroad which will widen their knowledge and expertise and thus bring practical benefit to themselves and credit to the Society. Topics may cover a wide variety of matters relating to agriculture, forestry, viticulture, horticulture, estate management, land-based tourism, smallholdings, equipment supply and fisheries.
  2. The total of each grant, either to single persons or groups, shall be decided by the said Committee in accordance with the funds available within the budget.
  3. The applicant(s) shall submit reasons for the visit and supply such information about themselves and their destinations as required by the committee.
  4. The visit shall take place in the year for which the grant is allocated.
  5. The individuals taking part shall be prepared to report on their findings to the Committee and/or a wider audience within a year of their return. This could be written, verbal, or a PowerPoint presentation, as required by the Committee.

Your application will be reviewed at our next committee meeting, following this you will receive written advice if you have been successful and if so how to proceed with your claim. (Funds are competitive and an “interview” process may be required).
